Zebra Cake
Delicious homemade candy with interesting patterns
Ingredients
4 eggs
200 g of sugar
200 g butter
240 ml of milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
375 g of flour
10 g baking powder
- For chocolate dough
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
50 ml of milk
15 g of sugar
Directions
Prepare a round baking tray with baking paper, grease and dust with flour.
Mix the dry ingredients, and whisk the chocolate dough in a separate bowl.
Whisk the butter (at room temperature) and eggs with a mixer.
Add sugar – spoon by spoon, and finally vanilla.
Reduce the speed of the mixer by slowly adding – alternately – a mixture of flour and milk.
When the dough is ready, separate the part (about two cups) and mix with the chocolate mixture.
Pour the dough into the prepared pan in the following way.
Take a separate spoon for each dough. Start from the middle of the tray. Put a spoonful of white dough in the center, wait a while for it to dissolve, then pour a spoonful of chocolate dough from above.
Continue like this until the end, you will get thin layers of dough.
When the cake is baked, you will get a zebra cross-section.
You can also watch the preparation of this cake on the video (pouring the dough starts at the 2nd minute).
Preheat the oven to about 180C degrees and bake the cake for between 45 and 60 minutes.
Try with a toothpick if the dough is baked – it should come out completely clean from the center of the cake.
