Strudels with Honey and Nuts
It’s always good to go back to old proven recipes.
60ml of lukewarm water
50 g of sugar
7g of dry yeast
75 g of melted butter
160 ml of yogurt
560 g of flour
180 g of coarsely ground walnuts (in a blender)
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
135 g of brown sugar
75 g of softened butter
30 g of flour
85 g of honey
85 g of heated honey
In a large bowl, pour the flour, add sugar and yeast. Pour lukewarm water, eggs, butter, yogurt and knead a smooth dough with a mixer.
Leave the dough for an hour to rest in a warm place.
Stir in all the ingredients for the filling.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface, spread it to a size of 60x25cm. Coat with filler and roll.
Use a sharp knife to cut the roll lengthwise (not to the end). Knit two halves, and divide the braid thus obtained into two rolls.
Place in a baking tray lined with baking paper. Let it grow.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Coat the baked and hot cake with heated honey.
