Chocolate Cake with Plums and Red Wine

3 eggs
150 g butter
150 g of dark chocolate
150 g of smooth flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
a pinch of salt
60 ml of red, dessert wine
100 g of powdered sugar
500 g plums
2 tablespoons plum jam
Directions
- Melt the butter and chocolate in a steamer. Whisk the eggs with the sugar and add this mixture with the melted chocolate and butter.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients – flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, cinnamon and salt. Finally, add red wine and mix everything lightly. Pour the mixture into a cake tin (26 cm) or a smaller square mold. Before baking, be sure to grease and flour or line the mold with greaseproof paper.
- Arrange the plums cut in half or quarters over the mixture. For a better aroma, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon on the plums before baking. Bake the cake for about 40 minutes at a temperature of 180 ° C. Try not to overcook it to keep it juicy. Use a toothpick to check that the cake is sufficiently baked.
- Coat the hot cake with homemade plum jam. Serve the cake chilled!
